I Would Rather

A’Channa Kichiwa

I'd rather be with you

My heart wrapped up in your heart

My thoughts and words and actions

Supporting all you do

I'd rather be with you

Through all my waking hours

And on into the dream time

I'd rather be with you

So many times I've tried

So many times I've failed

To be the one you needed

To be the one who hears

But through all the steps and miss-steps

Mistakes and miss directions

My heart still cries to your heart

I'd rather be with you

I offer now my life

To you and to the Mission

However longs it takes

However far we go

So through the end of time

Till time no longer matters

In thought and mind and spirit

I'll always be with you

Lady Phoenix

Lovely Phoenix rising

Bountiful, beautiful, brave

The times are dark, the need is great

Your love is our brightest shield

The power of hope is the gift that you weave

Into the dreams of the children

Lady of the Light

Bountiful, beautiful, brave

Drink from my well,

Sup at my table, rest in my garden

I will sing to you all night long

If you only will stay

Lady of the Promise

Bountiful, beautiful, brave

Come and fill, come and heal

I will not ask you to linger

Leave with the dawn

to return to the fray

But always come back to me

Your heart has a home with me

The Lake

Orion Logan

The Great Lake lies still, unknowing

While the caged sparrow sits

Looking out on the scene.

He sits and he weeps

For the life he lost and cries:

“Why, Oh Why, Oh Why?”

The Lake sees the sparrow’s pain

And feels sorry

And with that

The Great Lake let out a cry!

A cry so horrible and sad

That it rang through the town.

But that cry set the sparrow free!

The cry shook the cage…

It shattered

And the sparrow flew out!

He said thank you to the Lake

Then he sped off and spread his wings

And cried with joy

For he had regained his life.

The Lake was touched

And from then on the sparrow came to visit him.

The town still sits nestled in the trees

But no one can forget

The cry that set the sparrow free!

Sacred Trust

Jerilynn July 2009

TO OUR BELOVED MOTHER MAKEESHA MARI

The time draws near now.

We come to the sunset of this walk together,

Just as you birth at a new Dawn.

You once were our Mother.

You held us in Spirit Truth,

As we birthed to Love.

Now, you will be our child, our Sacred Trust.

We will hold you now in the memory of your True Beingness,

As you once did selflessly for us.

Wheels of unfolding, our souls joined.

Our hearts entwined,

Love’s eternal flame still burns.

We are your Amaraji Maha Marai Temple Maha Marai.

You will be our Sacred Trust,

Our sacred child to hold and protect.

In our hearts,

We will see the light shining from your innocent eyes,

We will know the stages of your walking and talking,

We will remember the Truth of your Heart

And your Mission as you grow into maidenhood.

Our songs will be your lullabies and your Refuge.

Our prayers will blanket you in Tender Love.

Wheels of unfolding, our souls joined.

Our hearts entwined,

Love’s eternal flame still burns.

We are your Amaraji Maha Marai Temple Maha Marai.

You are our Sacred Trust now,

We will not forsake you.

Our gratitude for you will create a river of joy and peace,

Flowing freely to all people.

We will hold fast to the Covenant and your Mission.

We know you are the Sacred Heart of Love’s Promise for our world.

Wheels of unfolding, our souls joined.

Our hearts entwined,

Love’s eternal flame still burns.

We are your Amaraji Maha Marai Temple Maha Marai.

The days will unfold, years will pass,

Our lives will come to an end.

Yet, you will remain our Sacred Trust,

A heartbeat away in Tarai, in Eternal Love.

Ama Marai, Our Beloved.
